Pretty as a Pumpkin

"Pretty as a Pumpkin" is a fall outdoor still life completed with palette knife. The late afternoon sun silhouetted the pumpkin, and the purple cloth filled the shadow note with lovely reflected light. The colorist approach is evident in this painting as the pumpkin's shape is modeled with color changes. Note that the pumpkin is not modeled orange, lighter orange and darker orange. It is purple, pink, green, blue, yellow and many no name neutral colors.
